The Towers

Riders from all over the valley know "The Towers". They turn out in swarms on weekend mornings to tackle the long slog up the this high point in the northeast of the valley. Continue on to Bartlett lake or head north toward Seven Springs and tackle a challenging grade and visit the Sears-Kay ruins just before the pavement ends.

TripID: 206116 The ride begins at Starbucks at 4815 E. Carefree Hwy. It's on the Southeast corner of Carefree Hwy and 48th St. in the Fry's Shopping Center. The ride will be about 26 miles in length and will climb steadily for the first half. The second half is a whoosh.

TripID: 315030 A few miles beyond the ruins, the pavement ends. It feels like a long slog out there but just keep telling yourself that the ride is over when you get to the ruins because it's all downhill from there.

TripID: 315046 A few miles beyond the ruins, the pavement ends. It feels like a long slog but you can pick up some rollers on the way out. It would be all downhill on the way back but this route dips a little south and returns to the start point on Black Mountain Parkway.
